Tombstone Photographs

I am drawn to cemeteries for several reasons: to do genealogy and find a needed piece of information, to take care of another grave as I would want someone to one day care of mine, to see the beauty,  enjoy nature, and feel the peace, to show respect, reflect and remember, a strong belief in the preservation of sacred grounds - they are the Ten Commandments of our forefathers, and it is so sad that we neglect, forget, pass by and ignore as the tablets crumble, fade, break, discolor, fall over and sink.
Photographs here are: markers for my kinfolk , markers of those unrelated to me, markers photographed for clients and with their permission shared here.
There's two FREE pages of cemetery photographs. Dear Ancestor

Your tombstone stands among the rest,
neglected and alone.
The name and date are chiseled out
on polished marbled stone,
it reaches out to all who care,
it is too late to mourn.
You did not know that I exist
you died and I was born.
Yet each of us are cells of you
in flesh, in blood, in bone.
Our blood contracts and beats a pulse
entirely not our own.
Dear Ancestor, the place you filled
one hundred years ago
spreads out among the ones you left
who would have loved you so.
I wonder if you lived and loved,
I wonder if you knew,
that someday I would find this spot,
and come to visit you.
