For several weeks he was treated at the Regimental Hospital. He dragged after his unit and fought in the Battle of Shiloh in Tennessee on April 7, 1862. Soon after he had a relapse and was sent again to a hospital. Around December of 1862 or January of 1863 he returned home on a leave and was treated by Dr. Rodman. I will not write at length here about his military file because I wish to continue on with the family history.
